Police Investigating Beach Park Shooting

December 28, 2018

On December 21, 2018, at approximately 11:15PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 12900 block of West Wakefield Drive, Beach Park, for reports of shots fired.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the residence and discovered several shots were fired and one person sustained a minor gunshot wound. The shooting victim, a 21-year-old man of Beach Park, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Preliminary investigation shows the homeowner was having a party when two uninvited males arrived. The uninvited men were asked to leave, and they became belligerent. They were escorted outside of the home, but returned a short time later and began shooting at the home from the outside. One of the rounds fired struck the 21-year-old victim.

The subjects are described as African American males in their 20’s. One of the males is described as being tall, with an afro-style haircut and wearing a red jacket. The other male is described as having dreadlocks and wearing a white sweatshirt. Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives continue to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 847-549-5200 or Lake County CrimeStoppers at 847-662-2222.
