Consolidated Election - Waukegan Municipal Petition Packets Available

Waukegan, IL (September 6, 2018) – Petitions for established political parties in the upcoming 2019 Waukegan municipal election are available in the office of City Clerk Janet Kilkelly at City Hall, 100 N. Martin Luther King Jr Ave. In addition, petition packages can be downloaded from the City of Waukegan website as well as election resources links, on the City Clerk page. Petitions can be circulated now through November 26, 2018.

Up for election in 2019 are the four-year Aldermanic City Council position for all nine wards in the City of Waukegan. To qualify as a candidate, you must be a registered voter of the City of Waukegan and have resided within the corporate limits of the City for at least one year. Petitions for nomination are filed with the City Clerk's Office. The filing period will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, through Monday, November 26, 2018, excluding weekend days; the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 22; and the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 23.

A Consolidated Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. The Consolidated Election will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
