Razzle Dazzles Baton Corps Win Three National Titles and One Grand World Title

Razzle Dazzle is Number 1

The Razzle Dazzles returned victorious from the National Baton Twirling Association Championships held at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. The group won three national titles and one grand world title.

The Show Corps with Props and Scenery captured the national title and the grand world title with their Fairy Tales with a Twist routine. Members are Julia Bejaoui, Kathrine Boffer, Kiana Cantu, Julisa Cardenas, Alexis Christensen, Alyssa Gonzalez, Madison Gleason, Emma Gurrola, Vianay Gurrola, Faythe Hudson, Troy Kraly, Maggie Mae McCarthy, Marissa McClelland, Danielle McDonald, Morgan McDonald, Lily Musich, Sarah Musich, Sarah Ondo, Katiemarie Owen, Emily Palmer, Steffanie Richardson, Madison Rogers, Avery Shogren, Abigail Smith, Abigail Stanphill, Jenna Uchiek, and Mackenzie Wacyk.

The Junior Parade Corps won the national title. Their music was a medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow songs. Members are Kathrine Boffer, Kiana Cantu, Julisa Cardenas, Alexis Christensen, Alaina Giaimo, Madison Gleason, Emma Gurrola, Vianay Gurrola, Maggie Mae McCarthy, Marissa McClelland, Danielle McDonald, Morgan McDonald, Lily Musich, Sarah Ondo, Emily Palmer, Steffanie Richardson, Abigail Smith, Abigail Stanphill, and Jenna Uchiek.

The Juvenile Twirling Corps also won the national title with a variety of songs about girls. Members are Julia Bejaoui, Julisa Cardenas, Alaina Giaimo, Madison Gleason, Faythe Hudson, Maggie Mae McCarthy, Danielle McDonald, Lily Musich, Sarah Musich, Madison Rogers, Avery Shogren, Abigail Smith, Rowan Smith, Abigail Stanphill, and Mackenzie Wacyk.

In addition, all three corps placed first in each caption on the scoresheet.

The Razzle Dazzles were also successful in individual and duet routines.

Maggie Mae McCarthy – 6th in Novice Solo Age 11

Maggie Mae McCarthy and Rowan Smith – 3rd in Novice Duet Combined Ages

Corps Member of the Year:

Madison Rogers – 1st in Corps Member of the Year Ages 0-9

Abigail Stanphill – 2nd in Corps Member of the Year Ages 10-12

Emma Gurrola – 4th in Corps Member of the Year Ages 13-15

Steffanie Richardson – 6th in Corps Member of the Year Ages 16 and up

At the Miss Majorette of Illinois competition in May, Katiemarie Owen won the title Teenage Miss Majorette of Illinois, Madison Rogers won the title Juvenile Miss Majorette of Illinois, and Alexis Christensen won the title Teenage Miss Majorette of Illinois Royalty. The Midwest Regionals were held in June, and Sarah Musich won the title Midwest Pre-Teen Beginner Pageant winner.

Katiemarie, Madison and Alexis competed in the Miss Majorette of America pageant at the national competition, and Madison placed 6th in strut in the Juvenile Miss Majorette of America Pageant. Sarah competed in the Beginner Pageant and placed 3rd in modeling in the Pre-Teen Division.

The Razzle Dazzles are under the direction of Laura Spaeth and Dawn Cmiel and assisted by Kristi Karner, Mackenzie Cmiel and Melissa Taylor. Sherry Parisi is the show corps and parade corps choreographer.
