20 Year Old Resuscitated After Overdose

On July 13, 2018, at approximately 9:25PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Sergeant Robb Briggs pulled over to assist what appeared to be a stranded motorist in the area of Route 45 and Rollins Road, Warren Township. As Sergeant Briggs approached the vehicle, he found a 20-year-old male passenger suffering from an opioid overdose. The male was not conscious and not breathing.

Sergeant Briggs administered a dose of Naloxone and conducted CPR, until the male regained consciousness. The male was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for his overdose symptoms, and he’s expected to survive.

Sheriff Mark Curran said, “This is the second life saved by the Sheriff’s Office to opioid overdose in less than 48-hours. As I’ve said many times, we are in an opioid epidemic and need the public’s help to put an end to the crisis. If you have information on a drug dealer, leave a tip at 847-377-4424 or on the website.”
