Girl Scout, Yesenia Perez Starts Petition

Yesenia Perez, appeared with her mother, Christine, and addressed the Zion City Council regarding fixing a social ill. Yesenia said that as a Girl Scout, she was working on a service project to get a speed bump to be placed in front of Elmwood Elementary School. She explained that the speed bump will help drivers reduce their speed, and create an environment where students will be safer. Yesenia asked for help to get a petition going to support the drive to get the speed bump in place. The Mayor of Zion, Al Hill, said that he would work with her to get the petition going and he encouraged Yesenia in her civic efforts to make school and community a better place.
