City of Zion Partners with Eligo Energy For Electric Supplier

The City of Zion City Council voted in May to select Eligo Energy to supply electric service for the residents of Zion. Zion residents will continue to be billed by ComEd. However, homeowners will notice on the bill that the electric service supplier will be Eligo Energy. The rationale, according to city officials, is that energy rates for residents will be lower. Customers will pay 6.73 per KWh. Notices were sent to each household explaining the transaction and giving residents the option to “Opt-Out” of the aggregation program. If residents do nothing, they will automatically be enrolled in the program. Households will experience slightly lower energy supplier charges for electricity over the normal ComEd rate. The discounted energy supply program will be in effect for two years.
