Duckworth and Colleagues to Host Federal Grants Workshop

On Monday, May 14, the offices of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth and U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider and Jan Schakowsky will host a federal grants workshop for constituents at the Northbrook Public Library.

The panel-style workshop will focus on resources available to local governments with an emphasis on transportation, infrastructure, flood mitigation and first responders. Panelists will include the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Illinois Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Illinois Treasurer's Office, Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, and Lake County Stormwater Management Commission.

The event includes two sessions, the second portion will consist of a panel-style workshop will focus on resources available to community organizations with an emphasis on cultural programming and funding available through private foundations. Panelists will include Forefront, National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Illinois Treasurer's Office, and Lake County Community Foundation.
