East Elementary Students Recognized

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, the Lake County Illinois Principals Association hosted their annual Student Recognition Breakfast at Vernon Hills High School. Two of Zion District 6's students were recognized at this wonderful event, that was comprised of over 82 schools and 184 students, in the Lake County Area. Destinee Kimble and Rebekah Hampton, 6th graders at East Elementary, were honored by Principal Charmekia Edelstein.

Rebekah Hampton, the Youth Leadership Team President, is an outstanding student who represents the 4 pillars of East Elementary School culture, being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. In addition to having a spirit of excellence in all that she does, Rebekah has been on superior honor roll every year that she has attended East, and was awarded 1stplace in our districts Fine Arts Festival.

Destinee Kimble, Youth Leadership Team Vice President, is a member of the East basketball and volleyball teams. She has shown herself to be a leader in the classroom, and in the school. As a consistent honor roll student, she is a stellar example for her fellow classmates. At East Elementary, it is believed that success begins with a person's will and determination. Destinee and Rebekah both exemplify excellence, and what it means to be the change as District 6 students. It is for this reason that they were honored and recognized at the IPA Student Recognition Breakfast.
