Tamara Long Recieved PBIS Student of the Month Award Presented by Dr. Keely Roberts

During the Zion Elementary District 6 School Board of Education meeting held Monday, April 16, 2018, several students recognized for outstanding achievement. Brittney King was recognized as Beulah Park Elementary School as Student of the Month.

"Although Brittney is only in kindergarten, she represents the best of what we would like all District 6 students to become. Brittney is one of the most caring, thoughtful and respectful children I have had the privilege of knowing. She is kind beyond a fault. This little girl has a unique quality about her, as she always seems to know when another is in need of a gentle smile, a compassionate comment or a simple hug. With her soft-spoken ways, Brittney conveys respect to everyone she encounters, whether it is an adult or another child." says Mrs.Lynn Butera, Principal of Beulah Park.

Butera said that Brittney strives for academic excellence and that she is an excellent reader and mathematician. And while Brittney was unable to attend the Board Meeting, she will receive a PBIS Student of the Month certificate in recognition of her efforts.

Tamara Long, an 8th grade student at Zion Central Middle School (ZCMS) was recognized as the ZCMS Student of the Month. Suzy Peterson, ZCMS Interim Principal, presented Tamara as the recipient of the Excellence Without Exception award.

"Tamara strives to do her best in all that she endeavors to do; she is dedicated, polite and respectful. During the school day you hardly ever see her without a smile; her positivity is contagious. She is always willing to assist others and is admired by her peers. Her focus on academic excellence and enthusiasm for volleyball and dance have been noted by her teachers and coaches. Tamara creates opportunities for herself and her peers...opportunities to grow and learn. She is a leader!" says Peterson.

Superintendent, Dr. Keely Roberts, presented Tamara with a PBIS Student of the Month certificate in recognition of her Excellence Without Exception.
